Diy Indoor Planter

As much as I'd like to live in denial, summer is almost over. Which sadly means soon there will be no more fresh herbs from my garden for cooking. I figured a great way to counter that is to add a couple small planters indoors. I didn't want the planters to be too boring which meant a quick diy project was in order. All I needed was a clean jar, hemp string, and glue. I quickly wrapped the hemp cord around the jar making sure to use glue at the bottom and top of the jar. Then I filled the jar with soil and transplanted some parsley from my garden to the jar.

Right now the planter has a nice resting place in my kitchen. Soon it will have the company of some basil, oregano, rosemary, and mint.

Now On Pinterest

If you've noticed I have a new icon on my sidebar to the right for yet another place you can follow me. I tried Pinterest probably a year ago and for some reason it didn't stick. Fast forward to about a month ago, I decided to give it another chance, and voila, I'm OBSESSED. I have a new morning routine that includes spending a little too much time on Pinterest. It's like a weird rabbit hole that once you go into, you can not come out. Yesterday I spent an unhealthy amount of time going through DIYs. I spent literally hours looking at pictures of all types of projects. I love it because it doesn't matter if you don't have what is necessary to do any of the diys you see, it makes me feel more creative and prepared to try just about anything. The amount of projects I have lined up for around my place will guarantee I'm busy for quite some time. If you'd like to follow, you can find me here

What I Wore - Greys On A Grey Day

I have a habit of wearing muted colours whenever the weather decides to be dreary and yesterday was no exception. It was slightly cool due to the overcast weather, so I dusted off my favourite cashmere sweater to be comfy. I managed to get lots of wear out of this skirt I sewed back in February. I like how it's a light and summery floral but not attention grabbing.

What I Wore - Baggy Shorts & Trench

I've always been a big fan of baggy pants (no, I don't call them boyfriend jeans), so of course, I have baggy shorts. These shorts actually used to be a pair of pants I wore quite often, lately they're shorts I wear most of the summer. They were a diy project that only required a quick cut and fold. It was a lazy and laid-back day so baggy shorts and a trench worked during the heat and rain.

New In - Brown Lace Fabric

I know I showed new fabric just a couple days ago but I'm quite excited about this. Unlike the last fabric, I know exactly what I'm going to make out of this. I recently visited a local thrift shop and saw these curtains that I knew I wanted to sew a skirt out of. I have everything I need to get started and hopefully my new skirt will be up soon!

The Power Of Advertisement

I like to think I'm not one to be swayed by shiny advertisements or seeing a celebrity endorsement. But every once in a while you see something in an ad that you feel like you must have. Technically it's not what they're advertising (Johnnie Walker Blue Label), but tell me those aren't some sweet sunglasses!

In Search Of - Fall Jacket

Parka

With fall just around the corner, I'm on the lookout for a fall jacket. I haven't owned a parka/military jacket in years, and yet, right now I'm drawn to them. I want a jacket that will keep me warm and look casual. Who knows if I'll actually get one, but if one comes my way at the right price, I'll definitely snatch it up.

What I Wore - Lazy Layers

With the limited wardrobe I have here, one way to spice things up is through layering. Yes I am wearing both a dress and a skirt. It might seem a little redundant, but with the peek of flounce popping out from under the dress, the outfit is more fun. Cover them both with my favourite Levi's top, and voila, there's my outfit. I've never been into the whole minimal/normcore look.

New In - Cotton Flag Fabric

Last week I decided to venture out and visit Karlstad. While walking aimlessly around the city center I found a fabric store. I wasn't planning on doing any shopping but I did end up buying this piece here. I'm not entirely sure what I am going to make with it yet, but I'm thinking maybe an easy sheath dress.

What I Wore - Deep Back Dress

Before the weather got absolutely terrible today it was incredibly hot. I figured it was a chance to pull out this low-cut back dress from H&M. The dress is extremely plain, so I paired it with this diy bra. It makes the back of my outfit just a bit more interesting.

What I Wore - Diy Print Skirt

Managed to get a photo of an outfit featuring my newish skirt. I went out to dinner for the first time in forever, so I decided to use it as an excuse to dress up a bit. It's summer so I decided to continue showing my love of crop tops. However, evenings here in Sweden tend to be quite cool so I just paired it with a faux leather coat.

What I Wore - Print Mixing

They both have beige in them so that means they match, right? If I'm being honest I don't care. I usually just put on clothes and call it a day!

Diy Print Circle Skirt With Pockets

This skirt right here happens to be the last thing I sewed before I left for Sweden. It might not seem like much, but don't be fooled, this bad boy is the first skirt I've sewed with pockets! I drafted the skirt myself, so it took a second for me to figure out how the pockets would even work, but I got there. The skirt was originally going to have a side seam zipper but I didn't know how to have one and pockets in the seams, so it just closes with buttons. Now I have a half circle skirt, that goes with just about everything, with pockets.
